While Pecahnya Kampung, Teguhnya Bata unfolds many facets of changes that comes along with resettlement in 1970s Singapore, it also tells the story of how the displaced community deal with these changes.

 

Adapted from an honours thesis on displacement faced by the Singapore community, the production highlights the importance of an artist as an observer of social change and his works as a social documentation.

 

Pecahnya Kampung, Teguhnya Bata by Azpirasi emphasises the importance of human agency in making one’s own destiny.
